| WHAT I COLLECT

Your email address, when you type it into a signup form on this site. That is the only thing I ask you for.

beehiiv, the platform that runs this site and sends the newsletter, records the ordinary things any email platform records: whether an email was opened, which links were clicked, which pages were visited, and roughly where in the world a visit came from. If another newsletter referred you, it records that too.

| WHAT I USE IT FOR

Sending you the newsletter. That is the main thing.

The open and click data tells me which stories people read to the end and which ones lost them halfway. That shapes what gets written next. I read it in aggregate, not to watch what any one subscriber did.

| WHAT I DO NOT DO

I do not sell your email address. I do not rent it, trade it, or hand it to a sponsor or an advertiser. If that ever changes, this page changes first, and you will read about it in an issue before it happens.

| WHO ELSE TOUCHES IT

beehiiv. The list lives on their servers and they send the email on my behalf. Their own privacy policy covers what they do with it. Nobody else has access.

| COOKIES

This site sets the cookies beehiiv needs to keep you logged in and to count page views. I do not run advertising trackers here and there is no third-party ad network on the site.

| YOUR CHOICES

Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you are off the list. No reply needed, no exit survey, no are you sure.

If you want to know what is stored about you, or you want it deleted rather than just unsubscribed, email [email protected] and I will take care of it.

| CHILDREN

Cars We Keep is written for adults and is not directed at anyone under 13.

| CHANGES

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Anything material gets said in an issue rather than buried here.
